What ever your passion is, follow it because you'll be really good at it

That's the secret to being successful & I'm not even speaking on a monetary level but you'll feel a deep sense of self fulfillment on every scale. The answers to your deepest thoughts and questions are rooted here. You'll do things that you wouldn't even think you were capable of. You'll have this constant hunger for exploration & that's natural. That's what we were like when were younger but somewhere along the way, most of us lost that because we were being told what to do and what we shouldn't do and "right" from "wrong". So much that we grow up being afraid to innovate, afraid to be ourselves. Because in high school it's not about getting an "education" or learning your body or exploring your ideas. It's about fitting in in every way possible and aiming to have the best test scores. Best test scores that measure what exactly? Intelligence? No, just facts. (That most of us don't care about) And the facts are clear, school preps you for the workforce. It teaches you that failing is the worst thing you can do because everything must be perfect. We must be perfect and care about things we don't really care about. Those values that are hammered into us stay with us even in the work place. We get a job, and we're not aloud to innovate. Doing something different, something "wrong" is how you get fired. So unnaturally we become more afraid of taking risks outside of this un-promised safety net. (Un-promised isn't a word but you get it) We then become a slave to the paycheck.

Our jobs don't promise that we'll be secure forever because most companies don't innovate when things change and that's how they go out of business and that's how you lose your job. They're so data focused and are missing the very core fundamentals of human nature; creativity, divergent thinking, exploration because they don't think it's important.

But in a career it's different. A career is something you do because you love it and it speaks to your very existence. It's an extension of you who are and hope to become. A career teaches you to be innovative because passion is not simple. A career is not simple. Passion gives us the tools we need to find the answers to the challenges that come with career building.

There will be people telling you how impossible it is to do what you want to do most because they think/ know they can't do it. But that's the thing, we're not all wired to do the same things.

So my message to you is to please stop playing by the rules, stop conforming, stop pressuring kids, your peers, or yourself to invest time in things that we don't find personal value in. One of those major things being college. Degrees don't promise anything like it used to. Plus you can find better education in other countries, on the internet, in books and documentaries. And it doesn't cost you your soul.

Be successful in your own right so that you may live without regret.
